Timber Haven Cabin #1 - Hot Tub

Disappointing Stay Our romantic weekend at Timber Haven Cabin #1 was unfortunately a major disappointment. What should have been a relaxing getaway turned into a weekend spent dealing with an excessive number of maintenance and functionality issues. During our stay, we experienced: No hot water,No heat,Non-operational fireplace,Hot tub/spa not working,Faulty wiring,No cooking utensils,Refrigerator ice/water dispenser not working,Ceiling fan not working,Broken or non-functional fixtures throughout the cabin,Poor overall maintenance,Poor customer communication The lack of hot water and heat alone made the stay extremely uncomfortable. The non-working fireplace and spa were especially disappointing since these are features that contribute significantly to the cozy, romantic cabin experience we were expecting. We eventually heard from management and were able to explain everything we had experienced. They moved us to another room, but unfortunately this happened late in the evening on the last night of our stay. The replacement room was nice and fully functional, and we were finally able to take a hot shower. Management also provided a partial refund, which we appreciated. There were definitely some positives: the location was ideal and close to The Village and everything else we wanted to enjoy, check-in and check-out were easy, the price was affordable, parking was convenient. Bottom line: Cabin #1 needs a serious maintenance overhaul before future guests stay there.

On immediate entry into the unit the house smelled of sewage, I contacted the host but unfortunately the host did not get back to me for multiple days-- all of my messages remaining unanswered until the night before I was leaving. There must've been an issue with the plumbing because there was a problem with drainage and the toilet would overflow or not drain properly. The entire house being malodorous for the duration if the trip.I booked this unit due to it having a kitchen and although there is a kitchen there was no kitchen utensils or cookware, making the kitchen effectively unusable. However, the parking spot and wifi were a big bonus.For the price and location, I would consider returning if the above things were fixed. Overall I had a great time in Big Bear!
